Ruth loves to make and tinker. Whether it’s building a workshop in her back garden, exploding pumpkins using facial recognition or inventing crazy inventions to stop her child from learning swear words, Ruth loves to bring to life unusual and entertaining ideas. Making has always been a big part of her life, from playing with Lego as a child, to learning to weld as an adult. Ruth is not afraid to learn a new skill and have a go. She believes that hands-on experiences can benefit all ages, but that they are vital to understanding how the world around us works.
Workshop
Having her own workshop has been the dream for a while and towards the end of 2020 Ruth started to make that a reality. The perfect place to build and tinker.

Women in Welding
Women in Welding is an initiative run with Lincoln Electric UK to help encourage young women into STEM roles and at the same time, help close the UK skills gap.
Ruth was instrumental in the concept of the Women In Welding Campaign, having worked closed with Lincoln Electric over the last few years, in 2021 she was announced as one of the brands UK ambassadors. As part of the campaign Lincoln Electric and their Ambassadors run hands on workshops allowing young people to experience welding first hand. The campaign launched in 2021 and has worked with schools and colleges across the country.
